Round lab 1025 dokdo cleanser review năm 2024

When I first started dating my man, one of the first things he did was buy shampoo, cleanser, and makeup wipes, so that I wouldn’t have to cart my toiletries whenever I crashed at his place. He even took the time to read the names of my products so he could find them on Amazon Prime or in Target. When I saw them in his bathroom, I double-took and clutched the remains of my melting heart.

“Oh, honey, I found these in Target,” he grinned, showing me a package of Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes with a look of bashful satisfaction on his face. Now, you don’t need to use coconut oil to take off your makeup!” (which is what I had done before, when I didn’t have my lotions and potions.)

It was such a touching and thoughtful thing to do. Like a baby handing you a macaroni picture.

(He tried to make up for it by gifting me with the Tatcha Classic Cleansing Rice Polish. He had to return it because it gives me a rather itchy rash, but again, it’s the thought that counts.)

I proceeded to show my boyfriend that he had wasted $3.39 at Target when I broke out my CosRX Low pH Good Morning Cleansing Gel and my cleansing oil at the time (which was the Kose Softy-Mo Deep Cleansing Oil). And while I’ve tried other products throughout our relationship, the CosRX cleanser has been a constant staple of ours. And for good reasons, too: it’s easily available on Amazon Prime, affordable, low pH, gentle, and didn’t irritate our skin. I love that it’s great at cleansing light makeup and sunscreen and he loves how it smells like tea tree.

So, when my Jolse Haul came in, he wasn’t too interested in the Round Lab Dokdo 1025 Cleanser. He gave it a quick glance, shrugged, and went on with his day. Unlike him, I was rather curious: all the second cleansers that I’ve ever tried have been safe cult classics like Hadalabo’s Gokujyun Cleansing Foam or La Roche Posay’s Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser. I’ve stuck to the CosRX cleanser for years because I like that it’s a foaming gel and it can take off sunscreen/light makeup. But while it’s a safe cleanser, I’ve become curious to try other ones.

It bends/creases a lot. Only real downside of this product, honestly.

As far as ingredients go, I would say that Round Lab’s Dokdo 1025 Cleanser is notable for gentleness. Of the surfactants being used, the primary ones are sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, and potassium cocoyl glycinate. Now, I’ve never been great at chemistry, but while researching these ingredients, these ones were noted for their gentleness and biodegradability. It’s marketing hook is that it contains deep sea water from Ulleung-do, which provides deep moisture and plenty of minerals. As far as my research and reading has told me, the benefits of micronutrients like minerals are most potent when their sources are consumed, rather than topically applied. But there’s also some well-known hard hitters like panthenol, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate, and hyaluronic acid.

It checks off my basic desires: it’s low pH, foaming, and gentle. The formula is pearly and thick; honestly, it’s actually a little hard to squeeze it from the tube. There’s a slight mineral scent, nothing overwhelming. While my boyfriend likes to use a pea-sized amount, I like a generous foam and I use about an inch’s worth of product and foam it up between my fingers.

As far as it works as a second cleanser, I think it’s great. The cleansing power is definitely a cut above the CosRX’s Low pH Good Morning Cleanser, which has always been gentle but has never been enough to help with the congestion on my nose. Round Lab’s Dokdo Cleanser is excellent for the congestion on my nose, and I think it would be a great cleanser if you were over-exfoliated. It’s not the best for taking off makeup, but again, that’s why we have micellar water and cleansing oils.

If I had to complain about something in particular, it’s the packaging. I’ve never minded squeeze bottles: it’s less plastic than a pump and it’s hygienic. My problem is the material. It’s stiff, and creases at the edges whenever I use it. Water has leaked into the packaging and it’s a little annoying, honestly.

Notice the lifting?

Value-wise, I would say it’s probably even better than CosRX’s Low pH Good Morning Cleanser: the formula is stiffer and thicker, which makes it a little easier to gauge how much is being used. I’ve had my bottle since September and I’m hitting the bottom 1/4 of the bottle? The price is comparable, but I’ve generally seen it retailed cheaper than the CosRX cleanser. I found it on Jolse for $8.98!

My verdict? You should absolutely give this cleanser a whirl! Packaging aside, it’s great value, has great cleansing power, and it’s low pH. It’s certainly usurped CosRX as my new favorite affordable cleanser. This will definitely stay as a staple in my bathroom!
