I posted an ad last week that was approved and ran for under an hour. I noticed that the “smart audience” was not advantageous to our physical store, so I edited the ad to change the delivery to a 30 mile radius around the street address. The ad now shows NOT DELIVERED and a notification on the Facebook ads app says “we noticed some unusual activity, so we’ve disabled your ad account. Verify at least one payment method or add a new payment method in order to run ads again.”
I have 2 cards linked for payment on my account, both say “needs verification” next to them. When I select verify it says FB will place a temporary transaction on the card, and a 4-digit code will appear on my statement, which is to be entered on the verification page. I see the transaction on my statement but there is no code. I waited 24 hours to see if the payment needed to clear to send a code, nope. I called my bank to ask if they see a code, also nope.
I found a live chat option and spoke with someone from FB on Friday, sent them screenshots of the statement, and gave them all the information the requested. After an excruciating back and forth, I was told they had to escalate the issue to their internal review team and they would get back to me in 24-48 hrs, but it could be up to 5 business days due to Covid.
Has anyone experienced this card verification error and figured out a solution? I have zero faith in FB support resolving it, and I have time sensitive ads I want to run. I’ve already lost 5 days and I’m feeling defeated after getting nowhere with their ad support.
Is this fixable or do I need to start a new ad account?
