I am attempting to get plugy to work but for some reason it doesn't. Can someone give me step by step working of how to make it work. I install it and click on plugy but then i click on a character to play as and it crashes saying that two files need to be in the same folder, but they are. I am using 1.12 which is compatible with it. Thanks for any and all help.

If you have PlugY Survival Kit 9.00, it will work with 1.12.
All you do is download it, extract it, and copy the files (including the folder full of files, which should stayin it's own folder) into your Diablo II directory. Then run the PlugY.exe, and it'll start D2 with PlugY enabled.
If you don't actually copy the folder itself into the Diablo II directory, you're going to get a bunch of missing stash file errors, as you would expect, and the game will crash.

Download the .zip version, not the installer.
Then just unzip every file (or extract, if you use WinRAR like myself) into the Diablo 2 folder. After that, you're done. Just be sure to load the PlugY.exe program instead of the Diablo2.exe. It'll be located somewhere in your Diablo 2 folder.
Feel free to make a shortcut to it on the desktop/quicklaunch bar so you don't have to open up the D2 folder every time you want to play.

While you have the option to disable these features (and they don't work on B.net):
It enables Ubers (and I think Ladder runewords? If not, there's a separate ladder rw mod that does) Gives you unlimited stash space (your stash is bigger, and has pages to flip through) Gives shared stash space (any of your 8 offline characters can access a shared stash to add or remove things) It also adds in some extra pages on the character sheet to let you see additional stats, and lets you turn on item levels for items and such.

There is no limit on how may characters you can create offline. I've never reached it, at least, and I save all my higher level dead toons (70+).
And it does enable ladder runewords offline.

Funny, you told me you lost everything you had last summer. Couple months after that, after you traded me that hero edited sword, you told me you uninstalled Diablo 2 and lost the charm you took from me. Stories are fun.

Let me reiterate.
I keep my characters in the current installation of D2 that I lose. I got hella pissed, because PlugY did something and I lost my stash.

I've googled the install PlugY 9.00 but never found the answer to why I have buttons to flip through character stat pages, but no buttons for stash pages, just the default small single page inventory.
E'llol all. 3rd attempt to install after cleaning my old versions of Vanilla LOD & removing all D 2 files. Install was followed as per the instructions in this thread, & as per the notorious Mr. Llama SC in his newest video on how to install the most recent version of the application. I have red this past thread(only one in existence*) & attempted to relocate the LocalizedStrings files as mentioned above. Its now in both my "base" & "pluggy" folders.
Regardless whether I enter through my Vanilla LOD, my Pluggy LOD, or clicking on the Survival Kit itself- I keep starting with a normal stash, & all the other mods/preferences are the original.
PLZ. SND. HLP.
EDIT/UPDATE-
Clean House(Uninstall + Reinstall*) fixed issue(s).
