EDIT..However , the OP there actually was found to be using Windows XP still apparently. That was their problem, and thus the error is correct. It is an invalid platform.

That OS is not even supported by Microsoft anymore. You need to move on to Windows 7 or later. And you need to be sure Windows 7 or later will even run on that computer before you change the OS.

You can search the game forum for others that may be discussing this also if you want to maybe keep more up to date.
