Jealousy nghĩa là gì?

Jealousy /ˈdʒeləsi/ (n) thường được sử dụng với các nghĩa:

- sự ghen tuông: cảm giác tức giận, không vui khi người bạn thích/yêu quan tâm một người khác.

- sự ghen tức, đố kị: cảm giác tức giận, không vui vì bạn không có được thứ mà người khác có.

- thái độ bo bo giữ chặt, thiết tha bảo vệ: muốn giữ hoặc bảo vệ thứ bạn đang có vì nó khiến bạn cảm thấy tự hào.

Envy nghĩa là gì?

Envy /ˈenvi/ (n, v) thể hiện mong muốn có được thứ mà người khác có.

Ví dụ:

Dù hai từ cùng được dịch là "ghen tị" nhưng có thể mang sắc thái nghĩa khác nhau.

Envy là khi bạn muốn có thứ gì đó mà người khác có nhưng bạn thì không/

Ví dụ: I had no envy of his success. (Tôi không hề ghen tị với thành công của anh ấy).

Jealousy là bạn lo lắng ai đó đang cố gắng chiếm mất thứ bạn có.
