2023 Ram 3500 release date

Additional modifications have been made to the upcoming 2023 Ram 3500 HD, which will hit the market later next year. Of course, the Allison transmission is the star of the show for the 2023MY model year. Aside from that, we anticipate a slew of enhancements, including updated aesthetics and an increase in the number of technological amenities available in the cabin.

In terms of performance, we do not anticipate any significant improvements. Of course, the Allison transmission will improve the overall ride comfort, but there will be no difference in terms of power. In the second half of 2022, Ram will introduce its high-definition lineup, and here’s everything you need to know.

Ram 3500 HD Specifications

With the exception of a new gearbox, the impending 2023 Ram 3500 HD is projected to be largely unchanged from its predecessor. Powertrain options include three different units, which are covered in detail in this section. The entry-level model will continue to employ a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 gasoline engine that develops roughly 410 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque in most configurations. It is mated to a world-class ZF eight-speed transmission that is second to none.

The following are the two possibilities available to those who prefer diesel engines yet demand greater capability. The engine in both variants is a 6.7-liter turbodiesel with a variable valve timing system. The standard model generates around 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque, according to the manufacturer. It is capable of 400 horsepower and 1075 lb-ft of twists in the more powerful version, on the other hand. This results in a towing capacity of 37,000 pounds for the Ram 3500 truck. As previously mentioned, a new Allison transmission will be available for purchase.

Interior Upgrades

The approaching 2023 Ram 3500 HD will continue to offer astonishing cabin design with a high level of comfort. While this model competes with heavy-duty trucks from Chevrolet and Ford, Ram provides the best cabin design. New Ram 3500 should introduce more premium materials, even in the base trim level.

Moreover, upper trim levels will largely benefit from new upholstery and more. Overall, this model provides fine materials and a large 12-inch infotainment touchscreen. As before, Ram 3500 is available in various different cab setups and optional technology packages.

Exterior Redesign

From what we know, the new 2023 Ram 3500 HD will gain mild cosmetic upgrades. The most reliable reports are saying the redesign will not occur, despite various speculations. However, Ram 3500 HD hosts a very modern design, so this isn’t a issue. Styling is perfect in our opinion. Naturally, Ram 3500 is based on the smaller RAM 1500 variant.

On the other hand, this heavy-duty model sports more aggressive design. The manufacturer will improve the air suspension, which should result in better ride quality. New exterior colors are likely to happen, along with the new wheels and tires.

2023 Ram 3500 HD Price, Release Date

The price of the new 2023 Ram 3500 HD will start at about $36,000. If you want optional diesel engine, you’ll have to pay up to $40,000. The sales will begin later next year, most likely in late summer of 2022.

Over the past several months, our sister site HDRams.com has been breaking down the entire 2023 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty lineup. With several minor updates coming in the new model year, there are some who are excited to see some of the changes made to the ever-popular Heavy Duty trucks.

While we have seen a number of off-road-oriented 2023 Ram 2500 pickups, made up of the all-new Rebel and the legendary Power Wagon, we really have yet to see the more mainstream models. That is until now.

Our keen-eyed spy photographers happened to stumble across a 2023 Ram 3500 Crew Cab Big Horn 4×2 out testing on public roads in recent days. The new series of images confirm that not all of the Ram pickups will get the new Sport Performance Hood design. This Big Horn appears to carry over the current hood, however, it is clear that Ram will offer the new mirror design across all models. 

Those sources have indicated that there will be two variants available (manual adjust/power adjust). The new mirrors will power extend and be integrated into the memory seat controls. The new design incorporates some current and new technologies into a sophisticated unit. This includes LED turn signals, puddle lights, electronic control glass, temperature sensor, heated main and spotter glass, blind-spot indicator, rear and front utility lights, 360-degree camera, and tow camera.

One thing that caught our eyes, was the fact that the truck features no camouflage but has the Cummins badge on the front fender taped over. So could this mean there is something in store for the mighty diesel powertrain? We doubt it, but it is weird that a non-camouflaged test vehicle would do that.

We are told, that production of the 2023 Ram Heavy Duty pickups and chassis cabs will start on Monday, October 3rd, 2022 at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Mexico.
