We rank the 2023 Hyundai Elantra in the middle of the pack of compact cars on the market. However, as is usually the case with Hyundai’s vehicles, it has a very competitive price point with the array of features that come standard.

New Hyundai Elantra Trims

The current generation is inching closer to complete redesign. Still, there are subtle refinements that make the Elantra a solid commuter or first car. This year there are five different trims to choose from.

SE

The SE trim is the least expensive 2023 Hyundai Elantra with a starting MSRP of $20,500. It’s a great choice for drivers on a budget. It has some features that you may not find in similar sedans of the same price point, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, two USB ports, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and voice recognition. On top of this, you’ll get a four-speaker audio system and remote keyless entry.

The SE offers plenty in the way of safety features as well. For one, you’ll get a rearview camera as is standard with most vehicles as regulated by law. Other features that are standard with this vehicle are automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, pedestrian detection, rear cross traffic alert, lane follow assist and lane keep assist. There’s also features called safe exit warning and driver attention warning that are designed to ensure driver safety.

The Elantra SE is equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine which produces 147 horsepower. With its fairly small engine, this trim delivers an estimated 33 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway.

Hyundai Elantra SE vs SEL 2023

SEL

The 2023 Hyundai Elantra SEL begins at $21,750. What the Elantra SE lacks, the higher SEL trim provides. It includes a number of quality features to convince buyers to pay a little more. The first thing drivers will notice is the addition of two more speakers, a push-button start ignition and satellite radio.

While the audio system is great, you can upgrade it to a superior eight-speaker Bose premium audio system. Other upgrades include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, sunroof, and wireless device charging. Other optional safety feature additions include adaptive cruise control and cyclist detection.

Limited

The Limited trim starts at $26,350. It includes features like cyclist detection and adaptive cruise control which are optional in lower trims, as well as features like park distance warning, collision avoidance assist, rear parking sensors and highway driving assist. On top of this, there’ an upgraded 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system with eight-speaker Bose premium audio, Android Autio, Apple CarPlay and navigation. Other features included with this trim are wireless device charging, ambient interior lighting, leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Despite the engine upgrade, it doesn’t suffer from poor fuel economy. The Elantra N Line gets up to 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Those are great numbers for a sporty vehicle!

The Elantra Line keeps most features available from previous trims. In addition to the safety focus, the Elantra N Line also adds interior and exterior styling such as combination cloth and leather seating for a more luxurious feel. A sport suspension system is included as well.

Hybrid Trims
