We went to see the Disney exhibition, and it was amazing 😍. Granted, we're big Disney fans, but even if you're not, I'm sure you'll find it captivating. It's a behind-the-scenes look into the art of animation that makes you realise how much effort and talent are involved. – Fernando Gordillo

Went for the film exhibit and the Disney showcase for our first visit to ACMI, and was thoroughly impressed by both installations. Great layouts, engaging displays, beautiful display spaces and friendly staff who were helpful in recommending how to navigate the different installations on offer without being overbearing. Fantastic experience and we will definitely be back. – Nigel James

☆ Always love visiting ACMI. Their most recent exhibition, Disney: The Magic of Animation, was phenomenal. ☆ Staff are always so friendly and welcoming. They really want to make sure that you have the best experience possible. ☆ Plenty of seating around the building and foyer to have a little rest. – Michael

Wonderful Disney exhibition which has been set up beautifully... I loved every second. – Rebecca Brennan

Went here on Thursday for the Disney exhibition. Loved learning about the history of Disney and how far film and animation has come since the 1920s! There was lots of space inside the exhibit so you could take your time to read and watch the displays without feeling rushed. We spent about 1.5 hours in the Disney exhibit, then we went to the ACMI free area which had so much to see and do! Would definitely recommend seeing the Disney exhibit while it’s here. – Mel

Staff are so attentive, friendly and helpful! From the security guard today to the lovely gentleman in the gift shop around 3pm. Such a great experience, what a fantastically magical place. Cant wait to come back! – S

Loved it. – Pauline Tau

- Take photos 📸 there was a huge mickey + a section with anna & elsa where staff are stationed there to help you take pics!

- Explore the exhibitions 🔍 honestly there wasn’t a lot to see so i was a little disappointed ☹️

- Draw some disney characters ✏️ there are tables + papers + pencils, and you can try drawing some characters based on step-by-step guides they paste on the table!

2️⃣ During Show (60 min)

- Find yourself a cozy seat anywhere on the floor bc the show will REALLY take 60 min 😹

- There are screens all around you, and they will screen a show with different snippets of disney films stitched together seamlessly 😻

- There are staff stationed around to hype the crowd at selected scenes; they actually dance and jump around 😹

- Your wristbands change colours! 🌈

- During songs such as Under the Sea & iirc Show Yourself, there are bubbles and snowy foam erupting into the venue 🫧

3️⃣ Post-Show (~10 min)

- You will be ushered out of the theatre, and you can buy disney merch along the way 🛍️

- If you bought the premium or VIP tickets, you can collect goodies! we got the premium tickets and got the sketch art posters - there were 5 designs to choose from and each person gets one!

📌 Verdict:

Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am an absolute disney lover, and I was overjoyed when 👦🏻 told me about this! Tho I MUST admit I was a little underwhelmed bc:

- There was little to no proper seating in the theatre

- There was too little time to explore everything! the exhibitions are all in the area pre-show and post-show you can’t backtrack anymore ☹️

- The exhibitions are really sparse! If you’ve been to the previous disney exhibition at Art Science Museum (I think it was years back?), it was MUCH more fun and interactive! The only interaction here was more suitable for the children who were jumping with the staff & the drawing area (which we didn’t have much time to hang around pre-show!)

- It honestly did feel a little pointless to spend $10 more just to get those sketch art posters & bring back the interactive wristband (why would i need it again right) ☹️ I would have been fine with just basic tickets since there wasn’t any other perk! (PS VIP get to go in a wee bit earlier, and their freebies are also these sketch art posters + a lanyard + a mug + the wristband)

I’d still have gone for it since i’m a disney fan!! the animation was beautiful and it was truly a great appreciation session as a disney lover :’) just get basic tickets if the freebies don’t interest you 😹
