I was wondering if anybody had extensive use of this all in one supplement and if you would recommend.

I've just upgraded to a Red Sea E170 with the sump upgrade and want to start dosing as I would like to try grow some easy sps. Limited in room in cabinet so wanted an all in one with a single dosing pump (on that note if anybody is selling one, I would be interested).

Any opinions?

Thanks

I've been dosing carbocalcium from the powder for about a year now and it's been great. Recently started adding the A and K (I think) liquids to the mix whichI'm pretty sure makes it the same as All For Reef but without Magnesium maybe. Either way I think it's great and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it, I'm using a Coral Box single channel WiFi dosing pump and it hasn't missed a beat so would laso eccommend that. My tank is an EA Reef 600 so pretty much the sme in terms of volume and dimensions

Okay thanks, what kind of corals do you currently have? Have you seen decent growth etc?

Mainly LPS, large euphyllias, acans and candy canes and a couple of Monti plates.

Growth has been really good, esecially on the monti, I'm only using a standard AI prime as well so that's going to be a factor as well

In theory it is just the same as anything else but all in one. I think however there is a maximum dose, can't remember exactly why but maybe due to impacts on pH?

Swapped to this about six months ago and wouldn’t even consider changing to anything else. Now using it on a 450 and 1500 litre system.

This is the close to all for reef recipe- now I think it comes as a dry powder. I haven’t worked out the cost per L of dry powder vs this recipe.

Take 140 g of Carbocalcium Powder, fill it up with R/O water to 800 ml and dissolve as much as can be dissolved. Then add 100 ml of each, A- and K+ Elements, and dissolve the remaining Carbocalcium Powder completely. At last add 12 g of Bio-Magnesium and dissolve it. This solution comes closest to our All-For-Reef and will add all major, minor and trace elements necessary for good coral growth.

All for reef has been working well for me. It took a few months to settle and get it dialled in. I think that was from the bacterial colonies becoming more stable/mature alongside general maturity/stocking changes which caused swings in Alkalinity. I like the ease and per day cost is fairly low. I’ve only had to twice dose Mag and Calcium to make some very slight adjustments on those. Overall happy, and the corals seem to like it also

It's great and hard to mess up unlike two-part. It has no impact on PH. The max dose is due to oxygen consumption. The product is based on calcium formate and the formate part has to be metabolised by bacteria in your system before the alkalinity is released.

I'd heard good things about it so I decided to give it a go a few months back on my fluval evo,I'm mainly soft corals and a couple of lps so don't strictly need to dose anything really but had read some really positive reviews from people with the same tank and similar stocking so decided id give it a try I guess ultimately I was looking for a bit more growth from some of my corals. I've got to say I've no doubt it's a good product and I definitely saw a change in a couple of corals for sure but I'm getting the impression the use of it in my tank is knocking something out of whack because after a few days of using it some of my corals are closing/not fully extending,I'm not ruling out a coincidence and maybe something else going on but I've tried it twice now and left a good few weeks/months between dosing it in which corals were back to full health only to give it another go recently and get the issues again! Everything I have test kits for tests out just fine so im not really sure exactly what's going on with it!

Been using the diy version with the 12g of Bio-Magnesiun added for well over 2 years now and seen amazing results. Coralline algae growth is also crazy. My dKH has been 8.4 for as long as I can remember. Its so stable. I now only test my dKH, Phosphate and Nitrate as everything else stays in check. Fantastic product.

Thanks for the clarification, couldn't remember exactly so got it wrong!

I use it on my system atm its only 3 months old and mainly small frags. The powers is easy to mix and lasts ages. I have heard it can send your magnesium through the roof though. I have ea reef pro 1200.

Might give this a go instead of the weekly manual dosing of separate potions, as all the multi element ones I have omit one or more element that then has to be added separately- eg includes everything except strontium, includes strontium but not molybdenum, not enough iodine, etc.

Ordered a 250ml bottle of the liquid version, I'll see how I get on with it.

I ordered the 800g tub. Been using the past week. Not noticed anything different so far to be honest.

I am not sure what you expect, its for keeping your level stable. You should be testing every other day and ensuring your alkalinity is stable. Thats is the point in dosing.

Mine arrived late last week & I've been dosing daily with it instead of the weekly multiple concoctions of other elements.

  • 19

I'd be looking at ATI pro instead of all for one

i've been using the liquid for over a year, seems to keep alk etc nice and stable, simple to use as only need a single dosing pump or just do it manualy, its great for small tanks IMO.
