Lg v30 plus review gsm arena

I performed factory reset on my newer LG V30+ (the one I recently bough for my wife). The one I use (the V30+ I bought last year) was not factory reset after Android 9 update, as it will swipe out everything in the phone and it will take me a day to restore & configure them all back.

Comparing both, I will say there is negligible difference in battery backup between the two, thought my instinct says the factory reset V30+ may be lasting 2 to 3% more. Both are on Android 9. Upgrading from Android 8 to Android 9 have not caused any battery backup issues on both phones. Battery backup on Android 8 & Android 9 are same.

Plod, 11 Apr 2020Hi all. Im currently on os 8.0. How is the battery on 9.0? Updates always mess up the battery life! I'm on Android 9 now and for me, the battery life is the same as I got my handset in August 2017. At that time it was on Android 7. Moreover, I never did factory reset because at my side I didn't require. The main reason for battery life degradation is always due to some incompatible older applications in the new upgraded operating OS, which internally keep on running/trying to access the code which is no more available. So, if you face battery drain after the update, do a factory reset and it should solve that problem of draining the battery. NOTE: Do check for Network strength in your area, if it fluctuates a lot and you are on LTE Auto/ WCDMA / GSM as preferred Network Mode(in Mobile Networks). That is one area it sucks the battery. Either change the carrier if it is supported in your country or change the preferred Network Mode to some other setting.

So happy with the V30. Will use it as long as possible, beyond the end of security updates. Hardware functional? Then this phone stays.

Sir I'm using lg g7plus.music quality excellent.is lg v30 plus has same soundstage as lg g7plu... Other than raw processing power advantage of LG G7+ over LG V30+, I found the later to be a better alternative in all other aspects . Others may vary.

In terms of audio quality over headphone jack, the soundstage, resolution & detail is same in both just the gain is slightly higher on V30+ when using proper high impedance headphones. Even though both uses the ESS Quad DAC, it can be the V series is having a better power rail to the DAC resulting in better output power.

V30's display is bigger & wider, usual advantages of OLED over LCD.

JMS, 03 Apr 2020where are these available ?These amazing offers on LG V30+ was available on Flipkart e-commerce platform during the "Big Shopping Days" sale period from 18th Mar (8 pm onwards) till 22nd March. If you don't know Flipkart is an online retail giant in India, wholly owned by Wallmart. It has only one true competitor Amazon India.

Himanshu, 26 Mar 2020Silver color was available at 13000???Both Silver & Black color variants of LG V30+ (B&O) variant was available for INR 13,000 ($174). Using credit cards, flat 10% instant discount was provided, bringing the price down to unbelievable INR 11,700 ($156).

That's a whooping 81% price drop over the phone's MRP of INR 60,000 ($800).

Anjan, 22 Mar 2020How can you tell that v30 has better camera than g7? Which respect you are talking this?Other than somehow passable battery life of LG G7+, it was not a worthy purchase for me. The camera is one of the more major deal-breakers which led me to sell the phone last year and sticking to LG V30+.

I woefully disregarded Anandtech's highly regraded reviews coz I am a LG fan. Below is a quote from their LG G7 review which speak of my views ...

Anandtech

But the biggest disappointment from the G7 ended up being the camera. Even though the G7 employs the same main camera sensor as on the V30, with the same optics, the G7 consistently underperformed its sister flagship. I have no idea what happened here but the image processing on the G7 was just atrocious and absolutely not worthy of a flagship device. LG's heavy-handed and pointless usage of a harsh noise reduction filter which creates a water-colour effect essentially destroyed a large amount of detail in the vast majority of scenarios, defeating the purpose of having a 16MP sensor in the first place.

LG in 2018's - The Biggest Disappointment

If I were to name one device in 2018 as the biggest disappointment, then it's the LG G7. This was meant to be a major jump for the company and present itself as the alternative to Samsung's Galaxy S9 this year. Unfortunately I do not know what happened within the company this year, as the end products this year's phones just had notable deal-breaking flaws.

On the camera side, the G7 was a straight downgrade from last year's LG V30. For whatever inexplicable reason, LG's image processing this year was just terrible, with washed out or unnatural colours and blurred out details. I have given the company the benefit of the doubt as this could be fixed via software, but even 5 months after release with the latest firmware, the situation hasn't improved. The LG V40 is slightly better, but also showcases the same blurred out detail issues.

What has been of particular issue this year has been LG's own display panels: The G7's screen was promised to be very efficient, and this this true at high brightness levels, it came with a very high base power consumption that largely negated this benefit in daily scenarios.

The LG V40 is even worse in this regard - sporting one of the highest base power consumption levels I have seen in a smartphone over the last 5 or so years. The end result is that the V40 ends up among one of the worst battery life performances this year.

Here I think there's something that's fundamentally broken on the hardware side, and for some reason this display panel flaw seems to have permeated (To a lesser severity) to other vendor's devices which use LG screens, most notably the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the small Pixel 3.

Both the G7 and V40 are devices which should not have been released in their respective states, and the fact that they were points out to QA issues at LG's hardware teams.

Lekhwani , 20 Mar 2020Hi I have also ordered. Mine is coming tomorrow. BTW, did you get the headphones along with it?Yep, the B&O in-ear headphones comes inside the box along with the fast charger.

BTW, how much did you pay? It was available for INR 13K for the first few hours and then set to INR 15K.

Is LG V30 Plus a good phone?

The LG V30+ ($912 at Sprint; $929 unlocked) is an even better phone to capture the entire world and listen to large, high-quality music files than the standard LG V30. The V30+ is really just a V30 with 128GB of storage and a pair of pretty good earphones included in the box, for about $100 more than the 64GB V30.

Is LG V30 still good?

Using for 4 years now. With the Android 8 version, it still promises a fluent usage. (Not with android 9 unfortunately.) With it's quad dac, screen resolution, thickness, weight, material, camera and voice recording features, V30 is still challenging modern phones.

What is the highest Android version of LG V30?

LG V30.

Is LG V30 still supported?

Even in 2023, the V30's hardware is still capable of running Lineage OS smoothly, and its overall design remains modern and visually appealing. Lineage OS support is available for all versions of the LG V30, including unlocked and carrier-specific models.
