Her eau de parfum spray review

BURBERRY Her is a fun, sweet and spirited fragrance that opens with a trio of fruits; blackberry, blueberry and raspberry are thrown together for an instantly fresh fruitiness. The perfume then blossoms into a heady floral heart of jasmine, and powdery violet before the cosy yet seductive base of white woods, musk and dry amber warms on the skin.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

BURBERRY’s Eau de Parfum pays homage to London – a bustling, vibrant city that’s full of life.

You Will Love This If…

If you love sweet, pretty fragrances, you’ll love Her; it creates a sense of sugar-dipped fruits and crystalline petals.

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

The fragrance is similar to its Intense counterpart but offers a slightly lighter, fresher feel, making it perfect if you don’t want anything too bold.

Is BURBERRY Her Unisex?

As the name suggests, this fragrance is marketed to women. Here at Escentual, we believe that you should wear whatever fragrance you like, no matter who it’s aimed at! That said, I’d probably recommend this for anyone who tends to opt for sweet fragrances for women as it does have an undeniable gourmand feel to it.

What’s The Longevity Like?

As this is an Eau de Parfum, you’d expect it to last at least four to six hours; it lasted just over that for me personally. To help intensify and prolong the scent, be sure to use the Her Body Lotion before spritzing this perfume onto just-moisturised skin.

What’s Special About The Bottle?

The Her bottle is luxurious and yet still understated. Inspired by an archival BURBERRY fragrance design, the double-walled glass flacon with delicate pink detail feels timelessly elegant.

If I wanted a no-brainer from Burberry, there's the much prettier (and more sophisticated) My Burberry, or even better, Burberry Brit Rhythm for Her, which I noted was "not too young or too pinkified or too silly", and which I've come to like even more since I reviewed it back in 2014. If that one was still around in a rollerball, I might bite.

And yes, the scent here is not so bad! Especially now in spring and summer he seems to be an excellent companion, but wait and see how he smells at the end...

The fragrance:

Ahh, I smell delicious strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants,... well, all that "berry stuff" stuff. It almost smells like opening a jar of jam (a type of wild berry!) to eat the treat it contains. Of course all this doesn't smell as sticky as if you would smear yourself with jam (yes, jam belongs on bread and not on your skin, no matter how delicious you feel with it)... :D And of course everything smells more perfumed, because there are more scents available. So, as I said, the beginning smells nice of fruity-sweet and even slightly powdery-creamy berry fruits. There is also a little cherry and musk. While in the top note one can only perceive the musk as the main source of sweetness, violets are added later (therefore the scent is probably powdery!). But then all the sweet scents seem to blend together, making it harder to really distinguish between the fruity-sweet notes, jasmine, violet, amber and musk. Somehow it is the case that one perceives the amber better, in the next moment the musk again. Even later, the fragrance remains fruity and sweet, and thus remains beautifully powdery and creamy. In the background I smell approaches of Patchouli. With the sweet notes I smell now more violets and jasmine instead of musk and I think that now slowly also a little vanilla is added and the amber becomes a little stronger. All in all, quite a beautiful fragrance.

Sillage and shelf life:

The Sillage has turned out to be above average. It won't be possible to smell it from far away, but you don't have to come that close to it to be able to smell it from others. For a rather loose fragrance it lingers for a very long time, which may also be due to the whole, sweet notes. So eight hours are in here, even if the Sillage should weaken a bit over time.

The bottle:

The bottle is rectangular, with one side merging into a curve. The brand name was incorporated into the glass at the bottom. The neck is gold-plated and the cylindrical lid is pastel pink, so it also fits well into the light pink scent liquid. A simple but beautiful bottle.

Soo, so I think this scent is very beautiful. It's not something you have to have now, so it's absolutely nothing special about it, but I like its powdery-creamy and sweet-fruity scent nevertheless well, which might seem like a girlie or teen, but look at it this way: If you use the scent, then you're probably 10 years younger than you really are and... HALT! I didn't mean that! :DD

Soo... I think "Her" is a beautiful, everyday companion, who provides for a good mood and nobody could get on the nerves. It looks delicious (yes yes, yamm yamm, nom nom nom nom,... hmm... :D) and fits perfectly into warmer days in spring and summer, but also in autumn it should be usable well. So I think you ladies could just have a look at the scent... and yes, you too, Christine! :DD

What does her Eau de Parfum smell like?

A British gourmand fragrance that blends crushed berries with violet and jasmine – rounded with wood and creamy amber.

What is better Eau de Parfum or parfum spray?

The simplest way to choose one over the other is to ask yourself how strong you want your fragrance to be. An eau de parfum's higher concentration of fragrance makes for a longer-lasting, more aromatic scent, while an eau de parfum is more like a body splash to be applied more liberally than a parfum.

Is Eau de Parfum spray strong?

Eau de Parfums are the second most potent fragrance in terms of concentration. Thanks to its staying power and impressive projection, many people consider them their 'go-to' dilution. They feature around 12-18% of oil, and on a good day, an Eau de Parfum should last for 4-5 hours.

Does Eau de Parfum spray last long?

There are several types of perfume available in the market and we sorted them from the highest to lowest perfume oil concentration: parfum, extrait or perfume: 6 – 8 hours. eau de parfum intense or extreme: 5 – 8 hrs. eau de parfum: 4 – 5 hours.
