Cloudy bay sauvignon blanc 2023 review năm 2024

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc has an enticing nose, with appealing aromas of ripe honeydew melon, passionfruit, vibrant citrus and a subtle touch of fresh blackcurrant leaf. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with hints of fresh sea air balancing out the warmth of the ripe fruit notes at the wine’s core. Subtle tropical fruit characters are underpinned by freshening notes of makrut lime, lemongrass, Meyer lemon and a touch of grapefruit skin.

Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is a natural match for almost any seafood, including sashimi, and steamed mussels with garlic, citrus and parsley. It’s also a great match for green salads and goats’ cheese. A hint from us: if it goes with lemon, it goes with Sauvignon Blanc.

Sauvignon Blanc 2023 Winemaking

How it's made

Fruit from each vineyard ferments separately before blending, a critical step in maintaining Cloudy Bay’s famous consistency. Rather than blending to make more wine, the winemakers carefully select the right grapes (from over 90 batches) for each year’s wine. This means the quantity may change, but never the quality.

Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Our fruit

Vineyards and terroir

Our Sauvignon Blanc fruit comes largely from vineyards planted in Wairau Valley’s Rapaura, Renwick and Brancott Valley sub-regions. The area’s warm, dry maritime climate and free-draining gravelly soils are perfect for Sauvignon Blanc. Key blocks include the Estate, Motukawa, Widow's Block, Red Shed, and Mustang vineyards.

Is Cloudy Bay the best Sauvignon Blanc?

Cloudy Bay - the most sought after Kiwi Sauvignon there is! An absolutely legendary, must-try wine. Zesty, tropical fruit flavours and mouth-watering crispness. A real, all-year treat!

Is Cloudy Bay still good?

Remains good over the years Cloudy Bay did set a standard in its time and still does but there are other New Zealand sauvignons out there worth trying and they're not all from Marlborough.

Free-draining gravelly soils and the valley's maritime climate come together in harmony to create the perfect conditions for growing Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The resulting wines are pure, vibrant and full of concentrated stone fruit, citrus and subtle tropical characters. This is the Cloudy Bay benchmark style.

How long can you keep Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc?

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is probably the biggest name in New Zealand wines and a real benchmark against which to measure the quality of all other Marlborough wines. This wine is perfect for drinking now but, always nice to know, it can be stored for up to 10 years and still retain that perfect taste.
