Story: Upon hearing that Club Clio’s finally open in the Philippines, we rushed there to check it out. My eyes immediately drifted over to these primers because the packaging is exceptionally adorable. There are actually three types, but the banana milk blur primer was sold out, so I chose the peach one instead.

Packaging: I absolutely adore the packaging of this product. It comes first in a small box that mimics the appearance of a milk carton, fitting since the product is called milk blur primer after all. The color changes according to the type you buy: pink for peach, yellow for banana, and blue for milk.

The tube itself fits well into the palm of your hand and is so aesthetically pleasing that I would love to just display it on a desk. The tube has an octagonal cap preventing the product from spilling out; however, I’ve noticed that once you take off the protective foil layer over the area where the product is dispensed, the product tends to seep out a little, not enough to spill when closed or create a huge mess, just staining the tip slightly.

Texture: I have the lingering suspicion that my product melted from the heat of my house. The consistency is thinner than I expected it to be, although I’m not too sure if this is the legitimate consistency or if it really just melted. If it did melt, that’s probably also why the product seeps out a little. It’s very smooth on your face, almost like a thin day cream, and I find that it’s not sticky at all.

Application:

I usually place a dollop of product on my hand, using my fingers to place stripes on both of my cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, and neck. I blend it in using either a patting motion or a gentle spreading movement.

After applying, you’ll notice an instant brightening effect. If, at first, your face looks unnaturally pink, don’t worry because that settles after a while. It creates a great my skin but better look. If you’re looking for a mattifying primer, this isn’t the one for you since it does give off a light glowy sheen, but I find that it makes your skin look smoother underneath your makeup and makes sure that your skin actually looks like it’s in one color.

Without (Left) vs. With (Right)

The difference is certainly more evident in real life and on your face than through this picture. Trust me when I say that in real life, it’s very obvious that the hand on the right has an evidently pink glow to it in comparison to the hand on the left which shows my natural yellow undertones.

Scent: As the name suggests, this product smells pleasantly like peaches. It’s not overwhelming, although if you use strong-smelling skincare products in the morning, there’s a tendency that the scents will mix.

Value for Money: Truthfully, I really enjoy using this product. If you’re looking for a good brightening base, this is definitely something you should try. I can see this coming in handy when you start looking worse and worse after months of stress in school so that you can look human again without actually looking like you’re wearing makeup. For PHP 700.00, I think that it delivers a rather wide range of subtle benefits: whitening, brightening, color-correcting, and adding a slight glow, but it’s not a product that I’d deem absolutely necessary.

Verdict: All in all, I do like this product and will most likely repurchase it once I start running out for those days I’m looking too dead to show the world. It’s not a holy grail product or anything, but it does give a significant difference to your skin despite offering no coverage. (The banana one has light coverage though, so if you’re looking for that you could try it out.)
