Despite the food and beverage industry rising to US$7.2bn, the industry - at least in the short term - is still feeling the effects of COVID-19 and the Russia/Ukraine war.

While there are many challenges ahead for the industry, food and beverage is expected to grow by 12.04% between 2022 and 2027. With this in mind, Food Digital takes a look at the Top 10 largest global food and beverage companies.

Danone

Founded in 1919, Danone was built on the simple mission to improve health. At the end of the First World War, Isaac Carasso launched the production of Yogurt in Spain to help those suffering from malnutrition. Taking an interest in the research Elie Metchnikoff - a researcher at the French Pasteur Institute and winner of the Nobel Prize in 1908 - added lactic ferments to the yogurt.
