I use Sony Vegas 8 and was working on a project until I tried to open it this morning and this error came up – “Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files. The files is an unsupported format.” The project file has not been moved or anything since I last used it, and it is still displayed as a Sony Vegas file in the folder, but it still comes up with that message every time. If anyone knows how to fix this I’d be so grateful because honestly I’m doomed if I can’t get the project file working again, I just don’t have time to start again. "An error occurred while loading the project file _______.veg. The file is an unsupported format." A couple of days ago I was cleaning my pc and accidentally deleted a couple of files I used in my project. Today I was redownloading those files to continue working on my project when all of a sudden this error popped up and now I am unable to open my project file at all. It would really hurt to lose all the work I put into this video project so any help would be greatly appreciated. I just upgraded to Movie Studio 14.0 Platinum. I tried to import .MTS files, but came up with “An error occurred while opening one or more files. The file is an unsupported format”. Under Details, I get the message “The file contains an unsupported number of channels (6)”. I’m presuming this is surround sound (although I only require 2 channels of sound – I could convert the file but would prefer not to as all of my devices record to this format). I am still able to import the same files on Movie Studio 13.0 Platinum on the same computer without a problem. Is there something in v14.0 that will never be compatible with 6 channel audio, or does anyone know a fix? If there is no known fix, I will reluctantly have to stay with v 13.0 (there are some additional features on 14.0 that are quite useful to me) I’m running it on Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit, 32 GB RAM. Any help most appreciated!
I have received a similar timeframe …. end of april begin may. I was not amused.. this is core fucntionality and not an intermittent or difficult to reproduce problem. It means theit QA (if any) is poor. Until now I never bought any Magix products, several received as demo over the years, but I always categorized it as toys. I hope they are able to make the step up now they bought Vegas from Sony….otherwise I have to look for alternatives. And subscription based like Adobe is for me definately a no-go. |
