The Frederique Constant caliber FC-303 (sometimes written FC303) is a Swiss made automatic movement with 26 jewels. It is essentially a Sellita caliber SW200-1 (ETA 2824-2 clone) with “Frederique Constant” engraved on the rotor.

COSC?

The typical FC-303 watch will not be COSC, but Frederique Constant does sell FC-303 powered watches with certified chronometer status (such as the Highlife Automatic COSC). Models with this movement which are COSC certified will usually have “Certified Chronometer Automatic” written across the dial.

By watch industry standards, Frederique Constant is a younger brand, having been founded as recently as 1988 by a Dutch married couple with family heritage in watchmaking. Despite being acquired in 2016 by Citizen Holdings of Japan, Frederique Constant’s collection remains oriented around refined Swiss watchmaking with an emphasis on luxurious finishing and features, including a range of in-house calibers, at more affordable price points compared to many other Swiss manufacturers.

Is Frederique Constant a high end watch?

Founded in 1988 by Aletta Bax and Peter Stas, the Swiss watchmaker has consistently prioritized innovation, quality, and design. It is this commitment to excellence that has solidified its position as a luxury brand in the horological landscape.

Is Frederique Constant a good investment?

A: Yes, Frederique Constant watches are worth the investment for those who appreciate fine craftsmanship and luxury timepieces. The brand offers a wide range of models at various price points, so there's something for everyone.

Which is better Frederique Constant or Tissot?

FREDERIQUE CONSTANT WINS. Tissot's leatherette band looks and feels cheap. The croco-calf band of Frederique Constant is much better.

Are constant watches any good?

While its more accessible automatics and small complications remain the brand's bread and butter, Frederique Constant has continued to cater to the bigger-ticket connoisseur with its tourbillon limited editions (which still tend to be priced at roughly half the cost of such a watch from most high-horology brands), and ...
